Annualmente, in questo periodo,
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan premia i titoli che hanno avuto il maggiore successo commerciale nell'anno che si appresta a terminare.
Il Gold Prize viene assegnato ai giochi che hanno venduto almeno 500.000 unità.
Se raggiunge e/o supera il milione, un titolo viene premiato con il Platinum Prize.
Oltre a questi, vengono assegnati altri due premi, ovvero il PlayStation Store Special Award (novità di quest'anno) e lo User Choice Prize.
Laddove il primo è anch'esso strettamente commerciale, premiando i titoli di maggior successo del PlayStation Network, decisamente più interessante è il secondo che, ovviamente, incarna quello che è il giudizio degli utenti sui giochi che hanno preferito quest'anno.
